Golf is a sport that can be practised alone or with others. It usually takes 2 to 5 hours to play a round of golf. It is usually played in an 18-hole course by striking a ball with a club. Each hole starts with a stroke from the teeing area and ends when the ball is holed on the putting green.

In HK, there are several public and private golf courses for practice. You can also go to some new golf centres in Admiralty and Causeway Bay for fun and leisure. To start the game, You would need some technical equipment. First thing first, clubs. There are different types of clubs: drivers are for long shots; Wedges are designed for very high accuracy and more spin than regular irons; Irons usually cover everything from chip shots to short and mid-range shots; Putters are used to roll the ball into the hole when on the green.

Secondly, you would need some balls. Do you notice that golf balls are dimpled? The dimples create a turbulent layer around the ball surface, making it slice through the air more easily. An official ball must have at least 1.68 inches diameter and a maximum weight of 1.62 oz.

When playing golf, you can spend a lot of time in direct sunlight for Vitamin D. You also have the flexibility to choose between practising with friends or alone. More importantly, you are less likely to get injured than in other competitive sports like football and basketball, but you need to maintain good form first.
