Technical information

How it was designed...

This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc.
To fulfil the anti-shock promise, we have chosen this system with a spring integrated in the screw tightening system.
We then designed a handle that enables powerful and comfortable grip whatever the position: along the tube for climbs and banking terrain, with the wrist-strap for efficient pushing and on the knob for descents.

How to adjust your poles to the correct length?

Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle.
To adjust the length: unscrew the middle section, find the size of the pole you need and screw back tightly. Tighten more if you notice that the pole shortens as you use it. Do the same with the lower section.
Never go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.

Directions for use

These hiking poles are designed to help you balance, propel yourself and spread the effort between the arms and legs.
To increase safety, check your pole's locking mechanism by pressing down hard on it before you start and at regular intervals.
Do not attach to your backpack in stormy weather.

Care instructions

Maintaining your poles properly enables you to maintain optimal function and increase their lifespan.
After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush.
Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.

Why are the poles sold individually?

At Decathlon, we decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. On the one hand, for usage reasons. Some people only want to use one pole. This therefore meets their needs.
On the other hand, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.

STOCK ADVICE

Store the poles without tightening the adjustment system to reduce the stresses on the system and protect their tightening power.
Store poles in a dry place.

TESTS

To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations.
During the design stage, each model undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, bending in three places; etc.) until it breaks.
We also test parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc.).
Finally, these tests are regularly repeated during production to guarantee consistent level of quality.

Approved By

Our field testers.
As well as these laboratory tests, Théo, our test engineer, makes sure that each model also undergoes trials on standardised test terrains. They allow us to confirm comfort, ease of adjustment, vibrations, etc.
Finally, durability is also checked with a durability test mission that can reach up to 500 km.
