Our Quechua hiking backpacks are guaranteed for 10 years. Our commitment? Bringing you long-lasting products that you will take on all your country walks. Because the products we love the most are those that have a story to tell and will have more to tell in the future! The warranty covers the defects of the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use.
How is the volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls in a graduated container that tells us the equivalent volume in litres.
How to fit my bag?
1 - Loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the bag on. 3 – Tighten the shoulder straps. 4 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
How to pack my rucksack?
Place heavy equipment at the bottom. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece to hand. In the pockets, place the small equipment that you use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc). The water bladder should be placed in the compartment that is usually placed down the back. Flasks go in the outer pockets designed for this.
We carry out several laboratory tests to validate the bag's components: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zips. For example, for a fabric, we test resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour fastness when subject to UV light and washing, waterproofing. We also carry out tests to check the resistance of assemblies by carrying out accelerated reproductions of the wear and tear on a bag over the years on a mannequin that reproduces the movement of a hiker.
A score for comparing products’ environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. At the foot of the Mont Blanc, in France, our design team imagines, draws and designs Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers, to check their comfort and durability. Brittany, Corsica... We go to as many places as possible, in all weather conditions. This gives us plenty of time to discuss, get your feedback and plan our future collections!
