Fit and sizing information
The fit is suitable for hikers who are:
between 1.57 m and 1.73 m for size S/M
between 1.74 m and 1.90 m for size L/XL
, and carrying a backpack between 0 and 20 litres
The hood tightens thanks to a drawcord and rip-tab strip on the back.
Eco-design
Our design choices reduce the product's environmental impact.
We use the “dope dyed” process (mass pigmentation of the yarn) reduces water and energy consumption.
We have also optimised the poncho design, its patronage, to reduce scrap fabric as much as possible. 3% maximum scrap fabric currently, compared to 11% previously.
What is bulk dyeing?
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water and also produces waste water from the dye baths.
To reduce this environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the colour pigments when the yarn itself is produced.
We use this dyeing process on 100% of the product.

Care
We recommend you use a re-waterproofing product (spray or liquid)
To renew the fabric's water repellent-properties and optimise the garment's performance throughout its lifetime.
Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies: this garment has been validated in a shower test under 12 cm rain for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
Component breathability
Our rain poncho and cape ranges do not come with a waterproof/breathable membrane.
Therefore, we recommend calm, gentle use to reduce perspiration rather than fast hiking!
Component water resistance
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed throughout the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes).
All the Forclaz ponchos and capes have a water repellent treatment.
