What size of SNB 100 snowboard should I choose?

In general, for all-terrain use or when learning to snowboard, choose a size that is approximately 15 to 20 cm shorter (for example, a man who is 1m75 tall should choose a board between 160 and 155 cm). If you choose a shorter board, it will be easier to control. This is also advised for people who are light for their height. A bigger board will be more stable at high speed.

152CM (30-60 kg) =>from 1.67 to 1.74m
156CM (50-80 kg) =>from 1.71 to 1.78m
160 CM MID WIDE(70-90kg)=>from 1.75 to1.90m

A word from the product manager

The SNB 100 board is the easiest board in the range to ride. This board is for learning how to snowboard. It is easy to ride and forgiving of mistakes giving you an introduction to freestyle

Programme/terrain

The SNB 100 board is very forgiving of mistakes when you're learning to snowboard. On piste, it's easy to turn on all types of snow and offers reassuring grip on hard snow. Its flat camber and large rockers allow beginners to learn to ride and discover freestyle. If you are looking for a cheap board to jib, its flexibility will give you complete satisfaction on every street spot.

Twintip directional snowboard

The shape of the snowboard is Twin Tip: The board's sidecuts are completely symmetrical between front and rear, providing perfect symmetry and centring of the board's features for riding in both directions in the same way. For even more versatility, the 20mm inserts are offset, making the SNB 100 a "false" twintip, so that it is directional enough for learning how to snowboard more easily.

Flat camber + long rocker

A flat camber is the best compromise between the traditional camber that brings grip and dynamism and a reverse camber that provides manoeuvrability in rotation but little grip. It is ideal for beginners because:
- the flat camber provides stability on modules or on piste
- the long rocker is forgiving in snow parks and on piste because the 4 corners of the board do not touch the snow when the board is laid flat.

Slight flex (3/10)

Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear.
The flex of the SNB 100 board is approximately 3/10, making it very tolerant and lively. This is a very consistent type of flex from the front shovel (nose) to the rear shovel (tail), which is predictable and lively on all types of terrain. On the other hand, at high speed or on very frozen snow, this board will not carve out turns as well, and will have less pop compared to an ENDZONE 500

Soft and forgiving torsion

The SNB 100 has a torsion, i.e. the torsional stiffness of the board between the feet, of about 2/10, which makes the board easy to handle, pivot and forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion provides freedom for the feet. It is important at the beginner level: forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion is also suitable for freestyle, jib or flat use. Perfect for shredding!

20 mm setback

The setback is when the board's compression points with the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board, but set back towards the rear. The bindings are also set back towards the rear by the same distance.
20 mm setback = given that the setback is very slight, it is an all-round board that is almost centred for riding in both directions but also provides balance in turns and rotations.

When should you wax your snowboard?

The DREAMSCOPE boards are supplied already waxed.
They then require regular maintenance like all snowboards and skis: ideally waxing every 5 outings and at least once a year:
- either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good glide
- or at the end of the season so that the wax protects the base all summer long

Glide quality: extruded base

The bases are made from polyethylene using 2 different technical processes:
- extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene
- sintered base, with a greater density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE)
An extruded base provides a normal glide and good resistance over time.

What is Wide on a snowboard?

A "Wide" board is a board that is wider than normal, to prevent "large" feet from touching the snow when turning and making you fall, or to increase buoyancy on powder. The width of the board is measured at its centre.

At Decathlon, we have defined them as follows:
- up to 245 mm: narrow board / foot size 4 to 7
- from 246 mm to 255 mm: normal/shoe size 5 to 8
- 256 mm to 265 mm: Mid Wide / foot size 7 to 10
- from 266 mm: Wide/shoe size 8.5 to 13

Can the shop mount the bindings on my board for me?

Yes. On this product page, you'll find a video to help with setup, but you can also ask your shop to mount the bindings to suit you. Remember to take your snowboard boots with you to check 2 things are correctly adjusted:
1. The front and back of your binding so that the boots don't extend beyond your toes more than the heel, or vice versa
2. The straps on your bindings, which should be properly adjusted for your boots.
