Waterproofness of the garment
This garment was approved in shower test in 60L of wtr/m²/h for 1hThis test reproduces average conditions of rain showerThe fabric of this jacket has water repellent propertiesfabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping inIt prevents the fabric from soaking up water & keeps it lightweight & breathableWater-repellent effect is achieved by using a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabricWe sealed the main seams, the ones most exposed to rain
How to maintain the waterproofness of your jacket long-term
In order to retain the item’s sustained, long-term waterproof properties, the water repellency of the fabric will need to be reactivated: we recommend every 3 washes, or after a dozen uses in the rain. When washing, abundant rinsing is essential, then reactivating the water repellent properties can easily be done in hot water: or with your tumble dryer or hair dryer for example, for a short time. You will find all our tips in the maintenance manual of this product sheet.

Waterproof rating expressed in mm or Schmerber
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with an impermeability of 2,000mm therefore resists a pressure exerted by 2,000mm of water
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. An overall rating of ABCDE is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (t-shirts, trousers and backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary actor in this environmental labellling process. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Thanks for your time to review the Quechua Raincut hiking jacket. I apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.
To give you a small insight on this jacket's usage, the raincut jacket gives you good protection from the rain when you are hiking on the lowlands, which has been tested by our users on the field and in laboratory for ensuring the promise to our users. The jacket has its main stitches taped, along the shoulder line and chest, (where there is rain hitting you directly). Now, stitches on the side and zipper are the only place water can enter inside ,as the fabric is totally waterproof to give protection from the rain. The promise breaks and water seeps in through side stitches or zippers when the usage is different (for example, say on mountains, the pressure with which the water hits you is higher than lowlands or even bike riding).
I apologise again for the inconvenience caused to you and I request you kindly to let me know your usage, which will allow me to recomenend you the right product for your usage, in exchange for the current jacket at any of our stores closer to you.
