FLEECE COMPONENT: INSULATE WITH AIR
The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture; this air keeps the body warm with its natural insulating properties. It is the abrasive nature of the knit that helps keep the air in.
Water-repellent properties of the component
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. A fabric becomes water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated across its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall rating of ABCDE is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (t-shirts, trousers and backpacks) Decathlon is a voluntary actor in this environmental labelling process. Product concept & technology
Store in a dry place without light. We recommend you avoid using chemical products, such as bleach, that could affect the thermal insulation of the garment.
We carry out 2 types thermal tests: - a test of the trousers material. - on the thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. We reproduce the same conditions of temperature, wind (5 km/h) and humidity found in the mountains on a 5 km/h walk. These tests allow us to validate our design choices and also adapt the thermal insulation where you need it most.
