WADDING THERMAL INSULATION
The thermal insulation allows the baby skiers to maintain the correct temperature: not too warm, nor too cold. The garment then adapts itself to the physical behaviour of the body and the outside environment. We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used. The thicker the wadding, the more air there is, and the warmer it is.
100 trousers are designed to resist from 2 to 3 hours of intense snow. To easily cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind...), these trousers have been developed using a component and treatment that prevent water getting in. To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.
A breathable coating means that the surface is coated with a paste or liquid. Once applied to a fabric, it creates a protective layer often used as a waterproof barrier that wicks away water vapour.
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. Wed'ze trousers are made with a water-repellent component that prolongs resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry for as long as possible throughout the day. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.
The trouser's ability to release the vapour from the water produced by the body during exercise in order to remain dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses technical components and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) preventing condensation inside the garment. 100 trousers RET: 12
Did you know that you feel colder in the wind? Consequently, when the outdoor temperature is 0°C and the wind speed is 20 km, the perceived temperature is -10°C. "Windproof" components reduce this cooling effect by stopping the air flow owing to the wind and owing to the relative speed of the sports activity.
Our trousers provide enough room to wear tights underneath. Regular cut=> straight-cut trousers Relax cut => trousers baggy on the thighs Slim cut (stretch) => belted, close-fitting stretch trousers Sports cut=> tight trousers preformed at the knees. Bootcut => trousers which are flared from the calf down.
We take particular care in choosing all the elements used in our products. We use only highly durable fabrics and assembly processes that undergo rigorous testing! In particular, our trousers are all equipped with edge protection panels at the ankles to minimise any damage to the trousers from the ski edges.
To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend the following: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can restore the waterproofing the outer fabric using a waterproof spray for fabrics. Read the care label
A score to compare the environmental footprint of the products
The product's environmental footprint is calculated for its entire life using various indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. Store on a hanger and do not fold, as this can damage the fabric coating. Make sure that the product is completely dry before storing in a dry and ventilated place
Our Wed'ze products are tested in the real conditions of use for which they are designed—the snow, cold, and all the conditions you might encounter when skiing and snowboarding. Our design teams ensure the product's target use corresponds perfectly to its real world use.
