The assembled pole facilitates the placement of elements. 2 rip-tabs on the inner side of the flysheet in windy conditions. Storage in the bag: fold the pole, fold the tent over (width of the bag) and roll everything up.
Forclaz tents are validated in the laboratory (tent mounted under 200 litres/metre² per hour for 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rainfall), as well as in field test missions. 40-denier polyester (PE) flysheet with a polyurethane coating (inside) & silicone coating (outside), 75D PE room groundsheet. Seams taped with heat bonded tape. Room in breathable and water-repellent 15-denier polyamide, partly made of mosquito net, to avoid contact with condensation drops.
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind. To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Bedroom with mosquito net sections for ventilation and sections in a water repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Two upper air vents and a two-way zip on the door to optimise air flow. To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without over-stretching. The air vents and good air flow reduce humidity inside your tent.
The flysheet fabric filters UV rays with a UPF of 30. Please note: a large amount of UV rays can pass through an open door. Protect your skin.
The entire tent is made of 20% recycled materials, thereby reducing the product's environmental impact. Flysheet made of 50% recycled materials. The bedroom is made of a "bulk dyed" component that reduces the amount of water used. The tent poles are coloured using an innovative anodising process that does not use nitric and phosphoric acids.
Every tent sold at Decathlon is guaranteed for 2 years of normal use (valid with your receipt or loyalty card as proof of purchase). In case of any problem have your tent examined in the nearest Decathlon store. All Forclaz tents are repairable: spare parts and tent pole repair services are available in the workshop of your Decathlon store, on the shopfloor or at decathlon. fr
A score for comparing the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the products is calculated based on the life cycle of the product and with different indicators. A score ranging from A to E is attributed so that you can easily identify the products with a better environmental performance compared to products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks,...). Decathlon totally backs the environmental labelling approach. For more info: http:..sustainability.decathlon.com.
Product concept & technology
Storage: after using or cleaning the tent, dry it thoroughly before storing to avoid bad odours and mould.
The waterproofing of Forclaz tents is validated by testing that a pitched tent placed under a 200 litre/m²/hr shower (tropical rain) for 4 hours prevents water from passing through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (=mm Schmerbers) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric only. Wind resistance: tents are set up in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.
