Technical information

Separate tightening system - 2 zones

On the All Road 500, there are 2 independent tightening zones:
1. The micro-adjustable habu®FitSystem (produced by Boa® Technology) for powerful and precise tightening of the bottom of the shoe.
2. Powerful strap to flatten the boot on your shin.
With this strap, every flex/extension, the shin is less tight and the foot is more compressed. A lower cable length stops this negative effect.

habu® Fit System (produced by Boa® technology)

The habu® fItsystem combines three important technical elements to transform the snowboard experience:
1) the innovative innovative wheel ensures micro-adjustment and precision,
2) the habu® cable is light, but very durable with 75 stainless steel strands.
3) low friction habu® guides ensure uniform pressure distribution whilst minimising wear and long lifespan.

How to repair the habu®FitSystem

Supplied by BOA Technology, the wheels and the laces of the adjustment system have undergone thousands of hours of rigorous tests in the lab and in the field, and are guaranteed to prolong the life of the boot on which they are built into.

Boot flex/stiffness

The All Road 500 boots have medium (6/10) stiffness (or flex). It caters to riders who hold a curve at high speed (needing a stiff shoe) while allowing them to remain responsive during small turns or surprise bumps that require rapid flexion-extension of the legs. The flex and heel support are both superior to the SNB 100 boot.

Adding Flex Up

The Flex Up (8600870) enables you to make your boot more rigid on 2 out of 10 flexion points (with Flex Up, this new boot has a rigidity of around 5/10).
This is an accessory which is inserted into the tongue of Decathlon snowboard boots produced from the 2022/23 season onwards. A pocket has been included in the design so that it's properly positioned in terms of height and laterality.
The Flex Up makes sense over time: If your boot turns more limp, give it a second life.

Heel support: level 2 (/3) liner

Foot support is essential when snowboarding to steer your board (such as foot in the boot or liner in the boot). The level 2 liner applies 4 advantages:
1. liner that can be thermoformed at home
2. "Ergonomic Heel Pad"
3. "2 point + scratch" liner tightening system + shin strap
4. "Hook & Loop" link between the liner and boot

1. Thermoforming the liner by yourself / WARNING

THERMOFORMING IS ONLY POSSIBLE IN BUILT-IN OVENS MEASURING 56 x 60 x 56 cm WITH A FAN MODE. DO NOT TRY ON A GAS OVEN OR A SMALL TABLE TOP OVEN WITH VISIBLE HEATING ELEMENTS.

1. Thermoforming the liner independently / INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Heat your oven to 80°C in convection mode
2. Remove the inner soles from the liners, place the liners on the oven plate covered with a piece of baking paper
3. Wait 15 mins
4. Put the socks back on, put them on with a pair of ski-snowboard socks and tighten them (not too much)
5. Put on the boots on and tighten fully
6. Wait for 15 minutes when static.
This operation can be repeated if necessary.

2. Ergonomic Heel Pad ankle foam

The ankle bone padding fills the hollow under and behind the ankle to hold the heel firmly in place. The level 2 liner contains a foam made in an exclusive Dreamscape material and shape:
- the shape is based on an average of 40 foot scans. It is perfect for holding the foot tightly and adapts to everyone
- the material: a soft but firm elastomer foam.
You can feel the support as soon as you slip your feet inside. And when you ride, there are no hard points.

3. 3-point liner fastening

There are three fastening points with laces:
- At the instep
-Above the ankle bone
-At the top of the liner.
There is no tightness on the top of the foot to minimise chafing but also to avoid tightening the instep which can cut off blood flow and cool the toes.

4. Hook & Loop Link between the liner and boot

We've added a rip-tab at the back between the liner and the boot. The aim? To stop the liner slipping inside the boot to help you better steer your board, because just holding your foot in the liner is not enough: if the liner moves in the boot, you’ll be less able to control your board properly.

Insole

The insole of this boot is flat. It offers comfort and thermal insulation.
If you really feel the need for added support for your foot in the liner, you have two options:
- get a sole pre-formed at the arch and heel area
- get a sole that can be thermoformed to suit your foot. This is the most effective solution.

Sole: grip, traction, cushioning and thermal insulation

Our Ultralight sole is 100% EVA. EVA is a very light material with 80% air. This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while keeping its damping properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects against the cold rising from the ground. We designed in large studs to offer you very good grip. Sufficiently far apart from each other, they help get rid of the snow.

How can I be sure it's the right size?

1. Put the boot on
2. Tighten the boot
3. Stand upright
4. Your big toes should just touch the tip of the boot without causing unpleasant pressure
5. Bend your legs forward, your big toes move backwards and no longer touch the end of the boot.
