The membrane is a very thin fabric applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away the perspiration produced by the body. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
How can I be sure my jacket will give me the protection I need in bad weather?
These trousers have been developed with a sophisticated component and assembly that prevent water from entering and reduce wind chill to help you cope with the weather conditions (rain, snow, wind, etc.) .To check that they are waterproof, these trousers were placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofing by skiing in different conditions for several days.
What's the point of having water-repellent trousers?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water to run off its surface without seeping in. These trousers have water repellent components that prolong their resistance to inclement weather. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface. However, this property may deteriorate with use.
How can I reactivate my trousers' water-repellent properties?
Did you know that water-repellent properties can be reactivated? To do so, dry the trousers in a tumble dryer on a synthetic cycle for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also use a waterproof spray (sold in our stores): spray the product evenly over the entire garment, then let it dry for 10-12 hours).
What are "breathable" trousers?
It is a product that lets the moisture produced by your body during exercise escape. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. The 500 trousers have a RET of 6. But it is thanks to the hi-tech Wed'ze solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that condensation is limited inside the garment and breathability is optimised.
How should I dress to avoid having cold legs on the slopes?
To keep your legs warm and dry, you need to wear 2 layers: 1 ski undergarment to wick away perspiration and 1 pair of ski trousers to protect from bad weather and keep you warm.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my trousers?
Our trousers have elasticated gaiters at the bottom that cover the shoes. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
What is the fit of the 500 trousers?
Slim fit with an internal volume that allows these trousers to be combined with a technical base layer.
How do I wash my trousers?
To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend the following: * 30°C machine wash / synthetic programme. * Turn the product inside out. * Add a small amount of washing powder. No softener. * Wring by hand. * Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
Store on a hanger and do not fold, as this can damage the fabric coating. Dry thoroughly before storing in a dry and well-ventilated place.
All Wed'ze products are designed and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested under identical usage conditions to those you will encounter yourself (in the snow, cold and powder snow, etc.). The design teams make sure the programme for which the product is designed and developed tallies perfectly with its real-world use.
