THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CUSHIONING

To give you optimal comfort and performance when running, we concentrated our attention on the sole which features 2 concepts:
- K-Ring: a ring located in the heel to improve cushioning at the rear and spread the shockwave in order to provide effective protection for the body: joints, back, knees, etc.
- Kalensole: improves cushioning by 34% and propulsion 25% compared with standard foam and lasts up to 1,000 km.

THE COMFORT OF THE KD 500

In order to run regularly over long distances, foot comfort is of the utmost importance.
So, we tried to improve the level of comfort with the following:
- an ultra comfortable 'half-slipper' upper
- enhanced cushioning at the forefoot thanks to a thicker sole
- a revised forefoot area
- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction

REBOUND WITH EACH STRIDE

So that you can make progress and improve your personal best times from 10 km to the marathon distance, the KIPRUN KD 500 improves propulsion (acceleration) with each stride thanks to the sole geometry combined with the Kalensole foam padding.

WHY CHOOSE A LIGHTWEIGHT SHOE?

The research and development studies have shown that a lighter product improves running performance by reducing energy consumption.
Without compromising on comfort and durability, the design of the KD 500 uses lighter materials and an optimised sole design.

EXCELLENT ROAD-HOLDING ABILITY ON WET ROADS AND BENDS

Our sole is designed like a car tyre for running performance without losing control in wet conditions.
The new sole geometry combined with a new rubber component gives the KIPRUN KD 500 excellent grip on wet ground, even when running at top speed.

DROP 8 MM

The height difference between the back and front of the sole is 8 mm.

The Kiprun KD 500 is the product of Decathlon's footwear expertise gained over 10 years.
Caroline and Pierre-Emmanuel (product managers), Stéphane (product engineer) and Nicolas (designer), who are all running enthusiasts, designed your Kiprun shoes with the help of a network of ambassadors: the runners at Decathlon, sports coaches and you! In this way, we choose the components, create the prototypes and test and validate the products with laboratory and field tests.

Outer sole of 63% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, 37% Synthetic Rubber Upper of 81% Polyester, 19% Polyurethane Lining and sock of 89% Polyurethane, 11% Polyester

TESTS

All our shoes are field tested for wear and comfort by male runners not associated with Decathlon. The aim is to test, improve and validate the product as objectively as possible so that you can run without a problem.

Approved By

The Kiprun team is made up of runners of every level of ability. Every day, we test our products to try them out and improve them. They are then tested by a panel of users under the real-life conditions for which they are designed. Before you put them on, they have already covered several thousands of kilometres and completed hundreds of races ranging from 10 km to the marathon distance.
