Developed With World Class Runners

Decathlon worked closely with world-class runners Yoann Kowal and Meline Rollin to develop KD900X LD. By conducting performance tests and analyzing their physiological and biomechanical performance, the better-performing shoes, KD900X LD, are designed to improve the running economy.

Running Economy For Performance

Improving running economy means either running faster for the same amount of time, or running for longer at the same speed. 6 criteria are known to influence running economy and therefore performance: shoe weight, cushioning and resilience (energy return from the foam), bending stiffness, sole geometry and grip. For each of these criteria, thresholds were set to ensure that the shoe met 'top performance'.
