When Marie was still a kid, her parents used to take her on hikes. They went camping in summer and skiing in winter. She then became interested in hiking, camping, trail running, and skiing.

“What I enjoy the most about my new life in Hong Kong is definitely nature.”

Before Marie relocated to Hong Kong, she thought Hong Kong was a busy, big city with many tall buildings. After she arrived in Hong Kong, she often went hiking with friends. She was surprised to find that the mountain and the sea can be so close. That is a scenery and an experience that does not exist in France.

“No, don’t take a break, keep going.”

Fast Hiking, aka Speed Hiking, is a sport between hiking and trail running. The pace is quicker than walking but slower than running. Marie fell in love with speed hiking as she likes feeling her heart beat fast, and speed hiking is good training for the body. As she reaches the top faster than usual hiking, it gives her more time to enjoy the landscapes. One of her favourite trails is Dog Teeth Ringe on Lantau Island. It is very steep and challenging. When she reaches the top, the view is unforgettable.
