Waterproofing
All Quechua tents are validated in a laboratory (whole tent under 200 L/hour for 3 hours), as well as in the field.
(2000-mm rated PU-coated polyester flysheet, 120g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet, all seams are sealed with thermobonded tape). A breathable polyester bedroom under the flysheet means you don't come into contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.
Ventilation
2 top vents, 2 mechanical side ventilation points, space between the flysheet and the ground all around the tent. to allow the air to circulate between the sleeping area and the flysheet, to refresh the air and limit as much as possible the natural phenomenon of condensation. The Fresh technology reduces the sun's heat.
Mattress compatibility
We recommend you use the tent with the self-inflating or trekking mattress measuring 60 cm maximum.
We do not recommend the use of inflating mattresses over 6 cm height in this tent due to the reduction in living space and resistance to condensation.
Pitching/striking
Standard dome assembly: fit the poles with the bedroom, then attach the top pole. Finally, place the flysheet over everything.
Reverse procedure when dismantling.
Wind resistance
We test all of our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A well-assembled tent with all the guy ropes properly deployed around the tent should remain habitable with a wind speed measured at 40 km/h near the ground (Force 5).
Eco-design / Dope Dye
Bulk dyeing or “dope dyeing” incorporates the pigments during the thread manufacture. This technique reduces the environmental impact compared to standard dyeing which takes place once the thread forms a fabric. This requires more water consumption and pollution.
Eco-design / Bi-ton
Bi-ton is a technique where only one thread out of two is dyed. The natural thread gives the garment a mottled effect. The alternate thread is dyed in bulk (dope-dye technique), significantly reducing water usage compared to a traditional dyeing method.
