How will this jacket keep your child warm?

We developed your jacket for intense wintry conditions: intense cold, snow, blizzard. The heat comes from thick wadding (double layer on the body), which is a synthetic insulating component thanks to the air stored in its fibres. We added a wide padded inner flap underneath the main zip to block incoming cold air. Your jacket, which was tested in real-life conditions, is really comfortable even in very cold weather.

How does the jacket protect your child from outdoor conditions?

This jacket was designed with a waterproof outer component that prevents water and wind from getting inside. In winter, to stay warm, it is important to protect the extremities (head, hands and feet) and wear waterproof clothing. This prevents cold getting in through the sleeves, the back, the neck, the fastenings, etc. As a result we added a storm hood with removable faux fur, cuffs and a stand-up collar to the jacket.

How can you be sure that your jacket is 100% waterproof?

We designed your extreme cold jacket with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof. We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a 2000 mm waterproof rating is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water, which roughly corresponds to a 2-hour downpour.

Water often gets in through the seams. Does this jacket have taped seams?

Your jacket is completely waterproof thanks to its taped seams. The seams of a garment are made watertight by adding adhesive waterproof strips on the inside of the garment that prevent water from getting through these vulnerable areas.
We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. We had it tested by children on a hike to make sure it performed all the functions expected of it.

A practical jacket with smart details

Practical and smart details: 2 outer pockets with flap, 1 closing inside pocket for your mobile for example, 2 inside mesh pockets for your gloves, etc. The main fastening has a zip puller and the press-studs have a thumb-hole: children will be able to undo and do up their jacket without removing their gloves, and the same goes for you.

A comfortable jacket for extreme cold with a unique style

We designed this jacket with a comfortable fit so that it could be worn with a warm second layer such as fleece or light down jacket. Its parka style makes it the perfect companion for winter hikes as well as for protecting from the cold in everyday life.

Children quickly make their stuff dirty; can you wash this jacket regularly without damaging it?

To ensure that our products are durable, we perform tests on the selected components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colour fastness, resistance to repeated washing.
It is preferable not to wash the faux fur of the hood. It is detachable so that it can be removed before putting the jacket in the machine.
If really necessary, we recommend washing the fur by hand and then drying it in the open air.

How to dress your child for hiking in the snow

To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.
layer 3: The jacket protects from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

How to preserve the technical qualities of this jacket

Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To regenerate the water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime, use these products with each wash or more frequently.

How to properly look after your product

To look after your product, we recommend closing the zips for washing. Machine wash at 30°C - normal cycle. Do not bleach. Can be tumble-dried on medium heat. Do not iron.
Do not dry clean. Always dry this garment thoroughly before storing it in a dry place away from light. Do not use chemicals, such as bleach, which could affect the colour and heat insulation.

How does my product warranty work?

This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. The product covered by the guarantee will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.This special 2-year guarantee only applies if you supply both the product and the receipt.
