Fleece component: Insulation provided by air

The fleece component is designed to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture; this air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. The brushed knit fabric is what traps the air.

Durability of the components

We conduct numerous laboratory tests to validate the highest standards in terms of durability: a test of resistance to abrasion and friction to ensure that the fleece does not pill, a colour fastness test to check the behaviour and resistance of the colours and an ageing test to check that repeated washing does not alter the properties of the fabric, its behaviour, its thickness or its appearance

TESTS

We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: - either a test of the fleece material. - or on a thermal dummy in a temperature chamber. We reproduce the same conditions of temperature, wind (5 km/h) and humidity found in the mountains on a 5 km/h walk. These tests allow us to validate our design choices. And we adapt the thermal insulation there where you need it most.
