What is softshell?
It is a warm protective jacket that protects you from the wind and a short downpour (about 30 minutes) of light rain or snow.
The fabric used is an assembly of 3 materials: a breathable and windproof microporous membrane sandwiched between the water-repellent outer layer and the inner one made from warm, comfortable fleece.
WHAT MEASURES HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE TO REDUCE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF OUR SOFTSHELL JACKET?
To reduce our environmental impact, we have put measures in place on several levels:
- the outer fabric is made of 100% recycled polyester
- the inner fleece uses a clean dyeing process called dope dyed (the yarns are self-dyed) which reduces CO2 emissions by 21%
- the patronage has been designed to reduce fabric losses as much as possible, which has made it possible to achieve 90% efficiency.
Thermal comfort and windproof
The wind makes you feel considerably colder.
With an outside temperature of 0°C and 20 km/h winds, it will feel like the temperature is -10°.
The so-called “windproof” components take away this discomfort by creating a barrier against the wind; they also reduce heat loss extremely efficiently.
WHAT IS THE BREATHABILITY LEVEL OF THIS SOFTSHELL?
The main fabric has a windproof membrane with a breathability of 3,009 g/sqm per 24 hours (according to the JIS L1099 standard, A2 method).

Water repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it.
This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.
We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
