Description

Material: ABS material
ABS balls have the following advantages:

  1. Stronger cold and heat resistance
  • Ping pong balls made primarily of ABS can be used in temperature ranges of -40 to 100℃. They are not easily flammable at high temperatures and are not easily brittle at low temperatures, offering greater stability.
  1. Lower water absorption rate
  • ABS has a water absorption rate of less than 1%, resulting in lower water absorption. With lower water absorption, ABS ping pong balls are less prone to cracking and deformation in dry climates. Therefore, humid environments have less impact on the weight of ABS ping pong balls, and the friction on the ball's surface is reduced, minimizing the occurrence of slipping.
  1. Minimal deformation
ABS has a shrinkage rate of 0.4% to 0.9%, resulting in minimal deformation. This allows for better roundness and improved consistency in performance. Even under powerful or high-speed strikes, ABS ping pong balls can maintain good stability.

  2. Better elasticity and speed
Compared to the previously used celluloid fiber, ABS has higher hardness, better elasticity, and faster ball speed.

  3. Superior manufacturing craftsmanship
The production process of celluloid and celluloid fiber balls involves multiple steps, including selection, cutting, measuring, storage, rolling, gluing, edging, expansion, trimming, polishing, and curing. Additionally, various parameters such as weight, diameter, hardness, eccentricity, and bounce need to be measured. The production cycle can take up to approximately six months.
The production process of ABS balls differs in that it uses "hot runner technology." Under high-temperature conditions, the raw materials are directly molded into hemispheres. The molded hemispheres are then combined to form the ball shells. Precise mold control significantly improves the roundness of the ping pong ball. The roundness difference of the Sanxing "Saiding" ABS ping pong ball is controlled within 0.08mm, allowing for a more stable flight trajectory. Furthermore, this technology employs a series of dedicated automated equipment, resulting in higher production efficiency.

  4. Increased durability
Due to the lower water absorption rate of Saiding compared to celluloid, the ball's deformation force is minimal. Experimental and test data indicate that Saiding balls have twice the durability of celluloid. If a Saiding ball accidentally hits a sharp corner, it will not "burst," at most leaving slight marks from the impact.
