The name 2650 is derived from the Pacific Crest Trail in the United States, which is 2650 miles in total. It is a 4,286-kilometer hiking trail that runs roughly along the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountains in the wilderness of the American West, starting from California on the border with Mexico and passing through Oregon to the northern border of Washington State near Canada. The route passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks.
The trail has a variety of different ground conditions, and Danner designed the shoe to mean it can handle a variety of different trails.
