FLEECE MATERIAL: INSULATION THANKS TO THE AIR
The fleece component is designed to trap air thanks to the space created by its texture; this air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. The brushing of the knit fabric is what traps the air.
Water repellent property of the component
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from absorbing water and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be restored throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). Products are available for this purpose in our stores.
A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall rating from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the more eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers and backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. Product concept & technology
Store in a dry place away from light. Do not use chemical products, such as bleach, that could affect the thermal insulation of the garment.
We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: - a test of the trousers' material. - a test on a thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. We reproduce the temperature, wind (5km/h) and humidity conditions that you would encounter in the mountains when walking at 5km/h. We use these tests to validate our design choices and adapt the thermal insulation according to where you need it most.
