What's the right size LANDSCAPE for me?
Generally, you should choose -15 cm on the All Mountain/freeride (for example, a person who is 1.74 m tall should choose a board of about 1.59 m long). If you choose a shorter board, it will be easier to control. This is also advised for people who are light for their height. A bigger board will be more stable at high speed.
For the LANDSCAPE, we recommend:
154 cm (50 - 70 kg) => from 1.63 m to 1.73 m
158 cm (65 - 85 kg) => from 1.7 m to 1.78 m
163 cm (80 - 110 kg) => 1.75 m and 1.88 m
A word from the product manager
We’ve completed our range with this board with a very “surfy” feel. We were lucky enough to co-develop it with Franck Moissonnier (Aka Franky Moiss) who very quickly steered us towards a carving powder board.
The idea was not to make a board exclusively for powder days, but an everyday board perfect for powder. An excellent compromise between buoyancy in powder and fun carving on the slopes.
Wooden top sheet
We have selected a top sheet (top of the board) made of wood, bamboo to be precise.
It’s covered in resin so it ages well. It minimises the use of fossil materials. It brings style and a little bit of lightness, which fits well with the freeride character of the Landscape board.
Good to know on the wooden top sheet
_ Wood being a natural material, the appearance and grain of the wood will be different from one model to another. Each board is unique.
_ The wood will also "live" the seasons, and will slightly darken in places. Wipe it well after every outing to reduce this natural ageing.
_ After long-term tests (between 45 and 80 days), wood was visually and normally altered on the surface, and the board could still be used 100%.
Programme/terrain
The Landscape is perfect on powder snow, but is also very comfortable on unprepared or hard snow.
It's also great for carving on hard slopes, and the wide side of the ski is especially good for big feet, so you can carve without any problem!
Despite its width, the bend radius is short which gives good liveliness from edge to edge.
It will also be the ideal weapon to play in the slush at the end of the season, because of its very "surfy" behaviour.
Why is it both serious and accessible?
_ It's not a “crowbar”! The rigidity is 6/10, which makes it serious but not as rigid as the All Road 900 board. Therefore it’s easier to handle, for intermediate to advanced riders.
_ Its very strong 60 mm setback and long rocker mean you can ride on both feet, not with the weight completely on the back leg. Even in powder, no more back leg cramped after 1 run!
Should I get a longer board for powder?
No, not with the LANDSCAPE.
Pick your usual size. It won't change your life on the slopes, and on powder, the width of the board, its 60mm setback and long rocker will do the job for you.
Directional snowboard
The shape of the board is directional, that is to say that the board has a front and a rear. It is not symmetric, the tail of the board is slightly narrower than the nose, and the bindings as well as the board's contact points on the snow are slightly set back. A directional shape gives better edge grip when turning, better control of the trajectory and more acceleration on exiting turns.
Standard camber + rocker
We keep all the advantages of the classic camber, plus those of the rocker:
- Thanks to the elasticity of the board, a standard camber acts like a spring to give you grip on all types of snow, pop when switching edges and acceleration on exiting turns.
- Under stress, the contact points of the board on the snow get closer and the board becomes more manageable. The rocker elongates and raises the nose so that it can glide better over powder.
Medium and versatile flex (6/10)
Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. The flex of the LANDSCAPE is about 6/10, which is medium and versatile. It is reliable in carved turns while also being forgiving of edge mistakes.
Medium and versatile torsion
The torsional stiffness, which measures the stiffness of the board to twisting between the feet, is about 6/10 on the All Road 500, which is stiff enough for stability in turns, acceleration on exiting turns and liveliness in edge-to-edge transitions. This makes the board suitable for intermediate to advanced levels, while remaining very accessible physically.
60 mm setback
The setback: when the board's compression points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board, but set back towards the rear. The bindings are also set back towards the rear by the same distance.
60 mm: very strong recoil for freeride directional boards. This helps with the lift, as the weight is concentrated on the back of the board. Naturally, the front rises and the powder rushes under the board. It also relieves the rear leg.
Recommended bindings
1/ The Snb 500 binding is an efficient traditional snowboard binding for making the most of the LANDSCAPE's capacity to tackle slopes, carving and off-piste runs. The angle of the spoiler can be adjusted.
2/ The Snb 100 binding is adapted to smaller budgets, is just as efficient but has fewer tightening options.
3/ The Flow Nexus binding for those who want a practical and quick to put on binding.
When should you wax your snowboard?
Decathlon snowboards come out of the factory waxed. They are ready to ride. They then require regular maintenance like all snowboards and skis: ideally waxing every 5 outings and at least once a year: - either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good slide - or at the end of the season, leaving the wax on to protect the base throughout the summer.
Glide quality: sintered sole
The bases are made from polyethylene using 2 different technical processes:
- Extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene
- Sintered base, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE).
A sintered base is the Rolls Royce of bases. The glide is really fantastic.
What is the Wide version snowboard?
A "Wide" board is a board that is wider than usual to prevent larger feet from touching the snow when executing a hard turn. From size 10 upwards, it is best to choose a "Wide" board. The width of the board is measured at its centre. At Decathlon, we have defined:
_ up to 255 mm: normal board / shoe size 3 to 9
_ from 256 mm to 265 mm: Mid Wide / shoe size 7 to 11
- from 266 mm: Wide/shoe size 8.5 to 13
Can I get my snowboard bindings fitted in store?
Yes. On this product page you'll find a helpful video, however you can also ask your store to set up your bindings to suit your own preferences. Remember to take your snowboard boots with you for 2 adjustments:
1. The front/back of the binding, so that the toes or heels of the boots don't stick out on one side more than the other
2. The straps on your bindings, which should be properly adjusted to your boots.

0% Park: can I perform jumps with this board?
Yes.
0% Park means that the technical features of this snowboard are not designed for freestyle riding: the board is neither short nor symmetrical at front and back, making it possible to perform all freestyle movements (turns, jumps with a switch landing etc.) but it's not really the best board.
However, on or off-piste, you can do all the straight jumps you like.
