I am very pleased with my hiking boots, I find them very comfortable to wear all day over varied terrain.
Kind of shocked at the quality. Wanted a lite weight hiking boot that was water proof for day hikes in Australian national parks during winter. Expected to pay 2x or 3x for brand name, got these as was in rush and had to pick up things for the kids at decathlon. Couldn't be happier
The boots are tough, waterproof and have plenty of grip. They are not the cushions for your feet. If you want that, get something else. These are great for walking on rough tracks but a bit firm for walking on hard packed surfaces and paved roads. They go up and down hills with ease.
I went through a rain and my foot got wet
These boots are great value. Kept my feet warm and dry in all weathers except for torrential downpours. Great on all terrains and I have worn them daily walking at least 6 miles a day. Happy if they last me about 6 months, they are doing the job a more expensive boot would do. Very happy with this product. Will buy another pair soon :-)
Sorry, I have bought lots of superb Decathlon boots and been very happy but these are not waterproof in any way at all. I bought 4 pairs of these in June 2020 (Sale price) to replace my old style Decathlon boots, same price range and level, which were brilliant. These have better lace holders but the new style floppy tops, not stiff ankle support. They go soggy in wet grass almost immediately and absorb water and retain it. You can dry them but they do the same, you just get wet feet and socks, I have had better waterproof trainers. Really disappointed. I understand you get what you pay for but to use the term "waterproof" for these is false and misleading. A comfortable boot for dry ground casual walking, go near any wet ground and you will regret it.
Boots are dead on
Brought these as a backup for wet weather dog walking. Just back from an hours heavy downpour where puddles had to walked through as no alternative. Got home with dry toasty feet. Really impressed with them considering the price well worth every penny. When buying these also treated the wife who is wearing them at every opportunity, as she finds them really comfy and keeps her feet warm and dry.
I’ve had a pair of the previous model for about a year, wearing most days for short periods all year round to walk the dog. I noticed a few weeks ago my feet kept getting wet in morning grass and saw both boots had split where the fabric meets the sole in the toe area. I’d previously been a big fan but am a bit disappointed if I need to replace every year through regular but short spell use. Ok, they are only £30 but still. I see the new model have a 2 year warranty but am unsure if the previous model did (or if I have the receipt!). I’m in two minds whether to buy again or go for a more premium brand (my previous Merrels lasted a good 8 years).
